I'm not going to lie. I'm a little bit excited about the move that is coming up. But today... I feel the uncertainties piling up like my beautiful, but useless, scarves. I have nowhere to put them... and they don't help me for the future. Somehow, though, instead of clinging to God's promises, I'm focusing on where I'm going to put all these worries (er, scarves).
And let's face it... I would much rather be in the "nesting" phase... because I like that part!
It's the figuring out the little things of a house, the 'nesting' part, that I like. Stuff like which cupboard the dishes belong in, how the layout of the living room would look best, adding knick knacks to unreachable shelves, and alphabetizing books on the shelves at eye-level and below.
Then I think of trite phrases like, 'finishing well' or 'living in the moment.' Ugh, I know they are true... but how can I cling to what He has already shown me? To know without a doubt, that He will show me a "straight way till [I] reach a city to dwell in." vs 7...
Because... "His steadfast love endures forever!" vs1
"For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry should He fills with good things" vs 9
"He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart" vs 14
"He sent out His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction"
So scarves... worries... take that!
And soon, very soon I will be able to finish by saying,
"Let them thank the LORD for His steadfast love,
for His wondrous works to the children of man!
And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His deeds in songs of joy!" vs21-22
